Q. I applied my code but the UOSE Beta is not showing up on my account in the account management tool?
A. Correct. It will not show up in the account management tool. Please start the game and log in to the UOSE Test shard.

Q. What server do I log-in to for the Limited Open Beta?
A. Please log-in to the UOSE Test server. If you log-in to any of the other servers you will not see the new features of Samurai Empire.

Q. Where do I send bugs or flaws if I find any in-game?
A. Send all information concerning bugs and flaws to UOSEbeta@ea.com. Please include the following information with your submissions:

  • Overview of bug or flaw
  • Detailed steps to reproduce the bug or flaw
  • Your system hardware specs
  • Account name

Q. I am getting errors when I try to install the game. What should I do?
A. Try the following:

  • Disable any Virus Scan software.
  • Make sure you have ~2GB of space on your C:\ drive. Even if you are installing to a different drive.
  • Download the Beta Client again. Your file could have been corrupted during the download process.
Q. During the installation process my computer just sits there?
A. Please be patient, the decompression process can take up to 10 minutes on some slower PCs.

Q. I am having problems when I patch my UOSE Beta client, what should I do?
A. Please send a copy of the file "patchlog.txt" located in your UOSE Beta directory to UOSEbeta@ea.com.

Q. Can I place a house on the UOSE Test shard if I have a house on my normal play shard?
A. Yes, the house placement rules do not count against your account if you are on the UOSE Test server.

Q. Where do I send game play issues, game balance issues, and game suggestions?
A. Please send all game related feedback to UOSEbeta@ea.com.

Q. Can I post information or Screenshots from the Limited Open Beta and can I discuss it with other people?
A. No. You have agreed to a confidentiality agreement when you applied the upgrade code to your account. Please keep all information confidential.

Q. What do I do if my code does not work?
A. Send an email to binky@uo.com. Be sure to copy the original code into your email for verification.

Q. How do I get into the Limited Open Beta?
A. The Limited Open Beta is full right now and we are not accepting any more entries.

Q. Will I need to purchase Samurai Empire when it comes out to keep playing or will my account still work?
A. Yes, you will need to purchase Samurai Empire when it is released.

Q. Do all the Rules of Conduct and Terms of Service apply to the test?
A. Yes.

UOSE Beta Test Phase 2

Q. When was the UOSE Test shard wiped?
A. The UOSE Test shard was wiped on Wednesday evening (September 15th) in preparation for phase 2 of the UOSE Beta.

Q. Will the UOSE Test shard during phase 2 of the beta have the "Test Shard" rules turned on so I can set my stats?
A. No, in order to collect real data on skill advancement and balance we need to see how natural play styles effect the game.

Q. How do I get into Phase 2 of the UOSE Beta?
A. There will be a very limited number of phase 2 UOSE Beta codes distributed. To get your code and download the client, please visit our partners at File Planet Here: http://www.fileplanet.com/betacenter/samuraiempire/

Q. After the first batch of Beta codes is gone, are you going to let more people in?
A. Undetermined at this time. Keep checking here for more info.

Q. Will I still be under NDA during phase 2 of the Beta Test?
A. Yes. Until further notice you are under NDA if you applied the Beta code to your account.
