Cooking

Magical Fish Pies To become a chef, simply cook! For many of the preparations you need to be near a heat source, this is most often an oven, but in some instances, such as barbeque, a camp fire or forge is sufficient. In the table, Cooking Menu, below where the proximity resource is listed as ‘flame’ any suitable heat source can be used. While most people only think of cartography in terms of decoding maps to find buried treasure the skill can also be used to create maps of your surroundings. Sea charts can be used by fisherman, either to plot a circular course to bring them back to shore at the end of their fishing trip or to sail to an area where they might find sunken treasure. Kindling and the imbuing ingredient ‘Elven Fletching’ can also be made by a bowyer. Tools and Resources Everything you need can be bought from an NPC Bowyer’s shop, but that can prove costly. You will need fletching tools, those made by a GM tinker are desirable as they will have more uses than […]

Sutek The Mage

The only quest giver in the Stygian Abyss, Sutek’s workshop is found just South West of the Clan Scratch area of The Cavern of The Discarded. A wise questor will study this area well, noting as many locations of highlightable items as possible.   Sutek himself is somewhat more elusive and can often be found some considerable distance from his home, as can be seen from the image. He wanders the cavern and surrounding areas muttering strangely to himself.   On taking the quest you will receive a clockwork assembly with a timer. Do nothing with this at this point […]

Tinkering

Long looked down upon by other trades, the tinker is the essential backbone of the crafting world, supplying high quality tools to all. From scribe’s pens to miner’s shovels, from sextants to potion kegs. He is also a supreme artist crafting musical windchimes, clocks or lighting for your home from a simple lantern to an elaborate candelabra. Sought out by hunters and fighters for his ability to craft bola; weapons such as nunchaku, cleavers, skinning knives and jewelry; both basic and magical. No gargoyle’s suit is complete without a finely crafted necklace and earrings from a grandmaster tinker (suitably imbued […]

Magic Item Properties

Items may become endowed with magical properties in five different ways. These are: Runic Crafting Imbuing Runic Reforging Random Generated loot Special Crafted items (minor crafted, major crafted, spellbooks) The range of items an individual property can be found on, and the intensity range of the property, will depend on the method by which the item was created. Properties imparted by runic crafting or imbuing were greatly surpassed on the introduction of Runic reforging and the random loot generator, however imbuing has the advantage of granting more control over the combination of properties that can be applied. In some instances […]
