Ultima Online: New Legacy – Season 2 Publish Notes

Overview
New Legacy Season 2 brings a new season of discovery and adventure to Ultima Online! Season 2 will run from October 15th, 2026 until June 2027.
Player Onboarding and Tutorials
Player Onboarding Experience
- Characters will be presented with a new “Welcome to Ultima Online: New Legacy” gump popup the first time they login
- This gump features an overview of New Legacy as well as an option for “Learn to Play!” which will present you with a curated list of basic topics to help you on your journey
- These basic topics are intended to help those of you that have never played before or just need a refresher
- These topics can be viewed at anytime by using the “View Tutorials” context menu option on your player and navigating to “Basic Topics”
Player Tutorials
- In addition to the Basic Topics, players will also unlock tutorials as they naturally progress in the game
- When a New Tutorial is unlocked, a small notification will appear at the top of the screen indicating you have a “New Tutorial Available”
- Clicking on this notification will open up a window showing you any newly discovered Tutorials that you have not viewed yet
- Once a tutorial has been viewed, it will be removed from this notification list
- Tutorials will unlock as you naturally progress in the game, such as doing a new type of quest objective for the first time, acquiring your first mount, or taming your first animal
- Unlocked tutorials can be viewed at anytime by using the “View Tutorials” context menu option on your player
New Skill: Chivalry
- Chivalry can now be unlocked as an advanced narrative for Warriors and Rangers
- Join the ranks of the Order of Paladins and help restore the order to its former glory
- Available to Warriors and Rangers who have completed their primary narrative lines
- Seek out recruitment posters in Trinsic to begin
Family Heirlooms
- A new season of New Legacy brings a new set of Family Heirlooms to collect!
- 31 new Heirlooms are available to discover as you explore the world of Britannia
- Heirlooms are true 1-of-1 items tied to your account. Any character on your account can acquire them, but you can only acquire them once across all characters.
- View the status of your discovered Heirlooms from the Player Information → Family Heirlooms context menu on your player
- Season 1 Heirlooms are no longer available
Pure Mage Improvements
- Pure Mages can now learn the ways of the legendary mage, Nystul, with the new Nystul’s Wisdom Buff
- Nystul’s Wisdom can provide the following bonuses to Pure Mages
- Up to 40% Lower Mana Cost
- Up to 3 Faster Casting Recovery
- Up to 1 Faster Casting
- Players that complete the primary Mage narrative line will have 20% Lower Mana Cost provided by default
- Players can learn additional Wisdom by acquiring Nystul Scrolls from Legendary Foes and Champion Spawns
- Nystul Scroll of Arcane Discipline – Provides 1% Lower Mana Cost when used
- Nystul Scroll of Arcane Swiftness – Provides 1 Faster Casting Recovery when used
- Nystul Scroll of Arcane Grace – Provides 1 Faster Casting when used
- Nystul’s Wisdom requires the player to have 100.0 skill in Magery, Evaluate Intelligence, and Meditation
- Nystul’s Wisdom is only available to base Mage Templates and Archetypes
- Accepting an advanced narrative line will remove the Nystul’s Wisdom buff from your character
- Having 50+ skill in any of the following skills will remove the Nystul’s Wisdom buff from your character
- Animal Taming
- Animal Lore
- Veterinary
- Discordance
- Provocation
- Peacemaking
- Swordsmanship / Mace Fighting / Fencing / Archery
Crafting Improvements
Antiquities and Heirlooms
- Crafters now have a chance to uncover Antiquities and Family Heirlooms when gathering materials from Mining, Lumberjacking, or Skinning Leather
Pet Lures
- Crafters now have a chance to uncover special Pet Lures when gathering materials.
- Each primary crafting skill (Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Carpentry) can uncover a unique lure when harvesting materials
Improved Crafted Equipment
- Crafters now have a chance for their crafted equipment to craft with prefixes and suffixes based on the current global loot level
- Crafted result is determined by the quality of materials used. The rarer the material, the higher chance to craft an item with a suffix/prefix, and the higher tier that item can become
- Crafted gear can never exceed the current global loot level
- Crafted gear can never reach the final loot gate (Invulnerable/Vanquishing)
- Crafted equipment will now have durability that increases with the quality of materials used
Salvage Stations & Unrefined Scrap
- Crafters can now salvage magical equipment at Salvage Stations found throughout the major cities of Britannia
- Salvaged equipment will provide crafters with a new resource, Unrefined Scrap, which can be used to craft a variety of new items
- The amount of Unrefined Scrap earned is based on the tier of the magical item salvaged
Refined Components
- Blacksmiths, Tailors, and Carpenters can now craft a new item “Refined Components”
- Refined Components can be be turned into the Congiarium by Blacksmiths, Tailors, and Carpenters as an alternative way to progress it
- Refined Components improve in value when crafted with higher quality materials
- Refined Components have a limited lifespan after being crafted
Mechanical Life Knowledge
- Blacksmiths, Tailors, and Carpenters can now learn Mechanical Life Knowledge
- Mechanical Life Knowledge can be found on Legendary Foes, The Vesper Museum Trader, and the Legendary Artifact Trader
- Crafters with Mechanical Life Knowledge will be able to craft Automatons to use in combat
- Blacksmithing: Clockwork Scorpion
- Tailoring: Leather Wolf
- Carpentry: Carved Treant
- Automatons require a large amount of base resources as well as Unrefined Scrap
- Automatons receive a bonus to their damage type and resists when crafted with special materials
- Automatons can only be healed with Construct Repair Kits, which can be made by crafters
- Construct Repair Kits have charges based on the quality of materials used to make them
Vesper Museum / Antiquities
- A new set of 49 base antiquities are available for discovery in Season 2
- Antiquities will roll with a new set of random Prefixes, Suffixes, and Hues
- 9 rare virtue-themed antiquities are available for discovery in a new name and hues
- Season 1 antiquities are no longer available in Season 2
Animal Taming Updates
- 4-slot pets are no longer tamable in Season 2, 3-slots are now the highest control slot a tamer can control
- 3 new Taming Knowledge categories have been added
- Unicorn
- Large Avians
- Primal
- 11 new unique pets have been added
- The following unique pets are no longer available in Season 2:
- Emberwing
- Ossidrial
- Pachuxo
- Arantress
- Taming Knowledge acquisition has been redistributed so all Knowledge can be acquired as a boss drop in addition to the Legendary Artifact Trader
- Special Pet Lure acquisition has been redistributed across content so all lures can be acquired through a variety of content in addition to the Legendary Artifact Trader
- Updated Juvenile Manticore Colors
- The following hues are no longer available: 2768, 2766, 2770, 2767, 1330, 2592
- The following hues have been added: 2587, 2755, 2657, 2794, 2792, 2791
- Updated Draalwyrm Colors
- The following hues are no longer available: 2076, 2659

Legendary Foes
- 4 new Legendary Foes descend upon the land
- Gjalpinulva the Frost Dragon
- Wayep the Blood God
- The Shadow Reaver Progenitor
- The Primordial Devourer
- Legendary Foes will now scale in difficulty with the Global Congiarium Gate
- Most Legendary Foes have gone through a balance and difficulty pass
- Legendary Foes will display a scoreboard after they are defeated that shows your damage, healing, and damage taken during the fight
Primal Lands
- The Primal Lands are a newly discovered area found deep within a dungeon
- In order to enter the Primal Lands, you must earn Primal Attunement by collecting all 5 vials of Primal Lifeblood
- Primal Lifeblood can be acquired from specific Legendary Foes and the Legendary Artifact Trader
- Those who are attuned to the Primal Lands will gain access to a new Primal Champion Spawn
Forsaken Bloodline
- The Forsaken Bloodline questline and dungeon will be available once the Global Congiarium Gate reaches the 3rd tier
Fractured Veil
- The Fractured Veil questline and event will be available once the Global Congiarium Gate reaches the final 5th tier
Misc Changes & QoL Updates
- The Quest Objectives gump has been redesigned
- There is now a small popup gump when participating in Defend Objectives that shows you your current status
- Players can now view various statistics about their character from the Player Information → Player Statistics Menu
- Taming Knowledge has been moved to the Player Information gump. This will only show if you have GM Taming and Lore
- Guild Level thresholds have been reduced
- Guild Upkeep requirements have been reduced
- All accessory item rewards have gone through a balance pass
- Boss reward accessory item stats will now scale with the Global Congiarium level
Ultima Store Items
- The Potion of Glorious Fortune will be available for purchase in Season 2 and provides the following bonuses:
- Receive double Legendary Foe Points for each boss kill (cannot exceed weekly or total caps)
- Receive double Forsaken Bloodline Coins for each Mini-Boss and Boss killed (cannot exceed cap)
- Receive double Fractured Veil Insignia for each Mini-Boss and Boss killed (cannot exceed cap)
- Receive double Objective Credit towards refreshing a house (works for both Personal and Guild houses)
- Receive double Guild Prestige Tokens when completing Guild Objectives
- Receive up to double the Congiarium points when donating a BOD to the Congiarium
- Bonus value is based on the amount of items contained within the deed that were filled while under the effects of a potion
- You do not need to have the potion buff active when donating the BOD to receive the points bonus
