The wiki search engine allows the use of a few simple operators to help you refine your search and omit less useful results.
These operators are:
- + A leading plus symbol indicates the word must be present in each result.
- Example a seach for +skill +gain will return all pages relating to skills and skill gain.
- – A leading minus symbol indicates the word must not be present in any of the results
- Example adding -publish to the above search would exclude any pages relating to publishes, however it would also exclude pages that have a reference to a publish within them.
- -intitle:publish This operator will exclude pages with publish in the title, but will include those with reference to publishes within them.
- Example using -publish when searching for ‘altering’ would exclude the needed result, because the page includes the phrase “as of publish 92, February 2016” within it, however using -intitle:publish will find the page as expected. Use of this operator is therefore highly recommended.
- “ A phrase that is enclosed within double quotes indicates that the entire phrase must be present exactly as it was typed.
- Example “crushing blow” will find information about the special weapon move where the two individual words would return very confusing results.
Finally, check your spelling, the best use of operators in your search won’t help if your search term is incorrectly spelled.
