The Umbrascale are building hidden nests across the Sosarian overland!
Maps to these hidden nests can be found in hidden chests in a dungeon where the umbrascale are attacking, traded for artifacts of the umbrascale at Brit Commons or found in a discovered nest
. To decode the map you will need and a Decryption Cypher, crafted by a skilled cartographer. With the cypher in you back pack, double click the map and reveal the approximate co-ordinates.
Once decoded, anyone can read the map, but you will require a shovel or pickaxe in your backpack to dig it up. There are five levels of map, the difficulty off which affects digging precision.
- A Fledgling Dragon Nest
- A Lesser Dragon Nest
- A Greater Dragon Nest
- A Grand Dragon Nest
- A Massive Dragon Nest
Defeat nest guardians to loot the contents (note, clothing and armor of human nest guardians cannot be looted).
Nests may contain:
- Dragon Eggs – multiple styles, hues, and qualities.
- Creature Bones – with over 100 name combos and 50 item types, including bone containers.
- Thematic Equipment – “Chewed”, “Dissolved”, and “Charred” sets.
- Pages of Lore
- New Dragon Mount:
- Rare chance to find a Mature Dragon Egg
- Hatches into the mountable Juvenile Umbrascale Dragon
- 3 Control Slots, Trainable to 5, requires Animal Taming.
- Matches the hue of the egg it hatches from.
- Orb of Ethereal Transcendence can convert it into an ethereal mount for anyone.
- Players can quietly dismantle or burn nests (requires lit torch).

- Quietly dismantling nests will not trigger the Matriarch.
- Level 4 and 5 Dragon Nest Maps have a chance for a tamable Umbrascale Ascendant to spawn
Dragon Matriarch
- Messages will be seen warning of the Matriarch’s approach
- The skies remain still, but the scent of scorched earth lingers faintly on the wind.
- Whispers echo from forgotten caves… something ancient stirs beneath the ash.
- Distant roars echo across the mountains. Scorched skies foretell the return of something vast.
- The skies blacken and crackle with flame… Something massive draws near.
- From the ashes of the fallen, she rises. All shall burn beneath her gaze.
- Once enough nests have been burned a warning of the Matriarch’s imminent arrival can be seen, you have several minutes to summon aid!
- Fight the Matriarch for special rewards in an Umbrascale Satchel:
- Artifacts “Of The Umbrascale”
- Dragon Eggs
- Special hued clothing items
- Battle-ravaged trees with unique names and colors
- Very rare Mature Dragon Egg in a unique Matriarch-only hue
