Victor Blackthorn’s forces have caused catastrophic changes, the shard is unstable and, sadly, it is time to flee while we still can.
The exodus is being co-ordinated by Mythran the Thaumaturgist. He stood before the assembled survivors, his expression more solemn than ever, but with a flicker of resolve behind his eyes. This is what he told us.
I have given much thought to what I saw within the Ethereal Void… and what Victor’s meddling has done to your world. I will not lie to you. The damage has has wrought cannot be undone. Sosaria.. The Sosaria you know… is dying.
You have felt it yourselves… the earth is splitting, the seas boiling, the very skies tearing apart. It is not just here. It is everywhere. Every moment we stand idle, another thread of this reality unravels. Soon, nothing will remain but fragments adrift in a storm of chaos.
He paused, lowering his gaze for a moment before lifting it again, calm but determined.
There is no saving this work. But there may yet be a way to save you.
I have studied the same void-walking magics that Victor Blackthorn twisted for his own selfish ends. Where he sought power and dominion, I will use them for escape and survival. I can tear open a rift… a moongate vast enough to carry every soul willing to step through it.
This gate will not lead you to this shattered Sosaria, nor to the Ethereal Void you have come to fear. It will lead you to another reflection… a world that has not seen this same fate. It will be different, yes, but it will be whole. There, you may find a new home. There, you may live.
He let the words sink in, then his tone grew firm
Make no mistake… this is not an easy choice. The lives you knew here are ending. You must quickly gather what you can, say your farewells, and prepare yourself for the crossing. When the gate opens, there will be no turning back.
When you are ready, enter the portal behind me. Together we will step through the veil and leave this dying world behind. Beyond the gate lies your chance to begin again… if you have the courage to take it.
We are limited in what we may take with us on this journey, no armor or weapons may leave, no enhanced clothing, only plainly made garments may we wear. However our legacy may accompany us, antiquities, heirlooms, our journals etc. We may also take our pets, with the exception of the Ossidrial.
Mythan’s gate leads to a foyer area and a passage to the exit gate. If you should accidentally have disallowed items with you, or in your bank, here is where you may open your bank, scour your back pack and deposit such items allowing you to leave.
Finally enter the gate and choose that version of Sosaria where you will begin your new life. Good luck fellow travellers!
