Spritelight

Overview

  • Spritelight is a new seasonal event where players explore the world to find and harvest magical mushrooms!
  • Spritelight will occur every year, with the initial run beginning with Publish 123 World Wide and ending July 1st

Spritelight Mushrooms

  • Spritelight Mushrooms can be found across the open world and in dungeons in all facets. The type of mushroom that spawns will vary based on the biome it appears in. Mushrooms also come in a variety of hue variants of differing rarity
  • Spritelight Mushrooms can be harvested with a Mushroom Harvesting Knife.
  • Freshly harvested Spritelight Mushrooms will be unidentified by default and will begin to rapidly decay
  • Fresh, unidentified Spritelight Mushrooms can be turned into the Spritelight Trader for minimal points
  • Spritelight Mushrooms can be identified by using “The Forager’s Field Guide: Mushrooms”
  • Identified mushrooms will be worth significantly more points when turned into the Spritelight Trader
  • Fresh Spritelight Mushrooms can be Preserved by using a Mushroom Preservation Pack
  • Preserved mushrooms will no longer decay and can be kept indefinitely as a display piece
  • Preserved mushroom cannot be turned into the Spritelight Trader, as the trader only deals with Fresh mushrooms
  • Identifying Spritelight Mushrooms will provide a small amount of Honesty
  • Preserving Spritelight Mushrooms will provide a small amount of Humility

Colossal Toadstools

  • Colossal Toadstools are rare oversized mushrooms that offer a unique harvesting experience
  • Upon harvesting, the Colossal Toadstool will create a number of Spritelight Mushrooms around it
  • Once fully harvested, the Colossal Toadstool will be harvested and can be kept as a decorative item
  • Colossal Toadstools cannot be turned into the Spritelight Trader
  • Harvesting a Colossal Toadstool has a rare chance to uncover a Spritelight Forager pet statue embedded within

Truffles

  • Truffle Hogs will appear at various farms throughout Britannia during the Spritelight Bloom
  • Truffle Hogs can be tamed to accompany you on your mushroom foraging voyage
  • Having a Truffle Hog nearby while harvesting a Spritelight Mushroom gives you a chance to find valuable truffles
  • Black and White truffles can be used in new Tinkering & Tailoring recipes
  • Giant Truffles are a rare variety that are worth a large amount of turn-in points at the Spritelight Trader

New Craftables

  • Mushroom Harvesting Knife – Craft this new tool via Tinkering > Tools. Required to harvest Spritelight Mushrooms found throughout the world
  • The Forager’s Field Guide: Mushrooms – Craft this via Cooking > Cookbooks. Use it to identify your mushrooms, unlocking their full name and rarity. Also serves as a reference guide with lore and habitat info for each mushroom species
  • Mushroom Preservation Pack – Craft this via Tailoring > Miscellaneous. Use it to permanently preserve your mushrooms as decorative items, though preserved mushrooms cannot be turned in for event currency
  • Mushroom Basket [Recipe] – Craft this new basket with Basketweaving
  • Dread Shroom Cap [Recipe] – Craft this stylish new hat via Tailoring > Hats. This new hat is a non-medable bone equivalent helm, and can be imbued or act as a target for Transmogrification Potions

Spritelight Explosion

  • The following boss-tier monsters will scatter a variety of Spritelight Mushrooms around them when they are defeated:
    • Dread Horn
    • Travesty
    • Chief Paroxysmus
    • Lady Melisande
    • Monstrous Interred Grizzle
    • Shimmering Effusion
    • Medusa
    • Lord Oaks & Silvani
    • Twualo of the Glade

Spritelight Trader

  • Visit Morelia within Heartwood to exchange your Spritelight Mushrooms for various rewards!

  • Spritelight Seedling – Water the seedling to create a random plant in a variety of common and rare hues!
  • Spritelight Hedge
  • Reward Title: Mushroom Enthusiast
  • Bag of Grass Tiles – Contains 3 house-only grass tiles
  • Spirit of Spritelight – Acts as a luck statue
  • Spritelight Tapestry – Decorative wall tapestry
  • Recipe: Mushroom Basket
  • Potted Shamrock – Decorative item that can be toggled on/off
  • Verdant Shillelagh – Shield-slot Transmog Target
  • Small Fairy Ring – A small decorative mushroom fairy ring
  • Large Fairy Ring – A large decorative mushroom fairy ring

New Wooden Weapons

  • A variety of new wooden weapons have been added as Carpentry craftables and as reward items from the new “Spoils of War” system to give diversity between skills

New 1-Hand Weapons (2s Weapon Speed)

  • Escrima (Mace Fighting)
  • Tanto (Fencing)
  • Gargish Bokuto (Swordsmanship)
  • Gargish Tanto (Fencing)
  • Gargish Otsuchi (Mace Fighting)

New 2-Hand Weapons (3.5s Weapon Speed)

  • Tachi (Swordsmanship)
  • Bo Staff (Mace Fighting)
  • Yari (Fencing)
  • All wooden weapons have Feint as their Primary Move and Nerve Strike as their Secondary Move

PvP Updates

Balance Changes

  • Enchanted apple cooldown will now scale between 30 and 60s depending on the number of curses removed and will ramp up faster
  • Smoke Bombs can no longer be instantly used after being detected by Detect Hidden, they are now subject to a re-hide cooldown based on your hiding skill.
  • Bolas now have a chance to get destroyed after being used in PvP Combat.
  • Trapped Boxes will do increased damage and the trap will break after used in the Heat of Battle
    • The damage and functionality of trapped boxes has not changed when used in PvM content
  • Hit Sparks now applies a 30 second per-target immunity timer to the victim when used in PvP Combat. Additionally, the mana returned to the attacker has been reduced
  • Nerve Strike damage now scales with player swing speed in addition to their Bushido skill
    • Damage scales from 5-15 damage at 1.25 swing speed to 15-25 damage at 3.50 swing speed (at 120.0 Bushido)
    • This ONLY applies to PvP damage against other players
  • Players will now be subject to an outgoing damage debuff based on +Skill items
    • This penalty ONLY applies to PvP damage against other players
    • The severity of this penalty is displayed in a debuff icon on the player. This debuff is only visible when the player is in the Heat of Battle.
    • This damage penalty only goes into effect after having over 100 +Skill items (or 820 skill points).
    • The damage penalty will scale from 1% to 25%, with 25% being reached at 180 +Skill item value (or 900+ total skills)
    • Only +Skill items from the following skills will be counted when determining this penalty:
      • Alchemy, Anatomy, Parry, Evaluate Intelligence, Magery, Resisting Spells, Tactics, Archery, Spirit Speak, Swordsmanship, Mace Fighting, Fencing, Wrestling, Throwing, Stealth, Necromancy, Focus, Chivalry, Bushido, Ninjitsu, Mysticism,

Harrower Update

  • The Harrower encounter can now spawn in:
    • Ice Dungeon
    • Khaldun
    • Orc Dungeon
  • The Harrower encounter now has a third phase
    • Upon reaching half health while in its True form, The Harrower will spawn the Eyes of the Harrower and the Mouth of the Harrower
    • The Harrower takes reduced damage while the Eyes and Mouth are alive
    • The Harrower cannot be killed while the Eyes or Mouth are alive
  • Upon defeat, The Harrower will drop a Chest of the Harrower on the ground next to their corpse
    • The Chest of the Harrower is part of the new Spoils of War system

Spoils of War

  • The Spoils of War is a new PvP currency system that provides unique rewards for players to acquire through PvP activities
  • The Spoils of War are currently only activated on The Harrower encounter
  • Upon defeating The Harrower, a Chest of the Harrower will drop which contains Spoils of War
  • Players that have looting rights on The Harrower can double-click the Chest of the Harrower to obtain a Spoils of War chest
  • The amount of Spoils of War that the Chest of the Harrower contains scales with the amount of players that participated in the kill
  • Players can obtain multiple Spoils of War from the Chest of the Harrower until it fully depleted, at which point the chest will despawn
  • Obtaining a Spoils of War from the Chest of the Harrower takes several seconds, during which players must not be mounted and remain near the chest
  • If players are attacked while obtaining a chest, they will be interrupted
  • After 5 minutes passes, the Chest of the Harrower will unlock, allowing anyone to attempt to receive a Spoils of War from the chest
  • Spoils of War are cursed and will decay 2 hours after being created
  • While holding a Spoils of War, players cannot recall, gate travel, or use moongates
  • Players holding a Spoils of War will be highlighted with a Purple notoriety hue to identify them as a carrier of Spoils of War
  • Spoils of War cannot be traded, but they can be dropped, stolen, and looted
  • Players must take the Spoils of War to a Trader before they expire, in order to claim their plunder
    • Spoils of War Traders can be found in Bucs Den, Ocllo, and Nujel’m in the Felucca facet only
  • The longer a Spoils of War chest remains unclaimed, the less points it will be worth. This decay begins 30 minutes after a Spoils of War is created

Cleanup Britannia

  • Cleanup Britannia has been updated to accept over 150 new items, use the “Appraise for Cleanup” option via trashcan context menus to value turnin items
  • Cleanup Britannia Reward gump has been updated to a modern “Treasures of” style

Ultima Store Items

  • Transmogrification Potion – Neck Slot
    • This potion can be used to transmogrify neck-slot equipment

Help Menu Update

  • The Help Menu has been updated to increase size and readability
  • Updated links point to relevant UO.com pages
  • Refactored help menu flow to streamline reporting of Terms of Service and/or Rules of Conduct Violations
  • Please note: you may experience text irregularities while using the Publish 123 test client until Publish 123 is WW on all shards

QOL / Bugfixes

  • The Stables gump has an updated UI to make the user experience easier for identifying and claiming stabled pets
  • Newer “Treasures of” style Reward Vendors now offer user-scalability to increase visibility of reward items in the reward gump, as well as have buttons to quickly jump to the first & last page
  • Recipe scrolls will now show which crafting skill they belong to on the tooltip
  • Kindlehart Music Box now accepts music gears
  • The Kindlehart Armoire container gump now uses the correct space when large gumps are enabled
  • Emberfruit are now stackable (only applies to Emberfruit created after Publish 123)
  • Void Fragments are now stackable (only applies to Void Fragments created after Publish 123)
  • Hitching Ropes can once again be crafted by tinkers
  • Resolved an issue causing players to not re-flag properly after engaging in PvP combat while not a member of VvV
