What is your role?
I work as Quality Assurance which basically means that I try to make sure that the amount of bugs released to the public is at a minimum and that the content the team submits works as described.
What does a day generally look like for you?
I start with the morning standup meeting to identify any roadblocks I may have run into and to give an update on how the prior day’s testing went and what that day’s testing entails. I also use the meeting to request help with any issues that might require someone’s assistance to resolve (such as broken server/client builds or some other problem).
Then I work through our development software to either work on test requests that have been sent to me by someone on the team OR confirm any bug fix attempts that may have been submitted for previous test requests. While working on the test requests, I follow a test plan provided by the developer and make sure that the system functions as it should and I also try to break the system before it makes its way to the players, sending any bug reports to the appropriate person.
Once all of those tasks have been addressed, I check the bug queue, try to replicate any listed bugs and submit reproducible bugs into our development software.
How long have you played UO?
My wife and I started playing Ultima Online in 1997, shortly after release.

I started working on Ultima Online in February of 2008.
What is your favorite UO moment?
I don’t think that I can choose a single favorite moment while playing, there have been so many amazing adventures over the years. From the first time we were PK’d and I scribbled the PKs character name on my old CRV monitor with a sharpie (shout out to Mym), to eventually getting revenge on him OR to being gated to the top of Trinsic bank as a red and immediately being guard whacked with about 8 friends due to a guild mates error (shout out to Djinn). There have been so many fun and chaotic experiences I cannot just choose one.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
Either Stygian Abyss expansion or Time of Legends.
