Filling the Gaps Between Walls

When crafting walls to add to a pre-built home the problem many home makers find a problem connecting existing to new walls. A solution to this has been offered by ‘Basho’ and passed on by ‘Pawain’.

Here are two examples:

Example 1. the half wall gap in the entrance of the Trinsic Keep. (fig 1)

To fill this gap:

  • Craft a stone door described on the stone crafting menu ‘E out’.
  • Put this down anywhere in the house and open it.
  • Pick up the opened door and place it on the East side, and slightly to the south, of the opening to be filled. (fig 2)
  • Close the door and lock it down (doors, unlike walls, need to be locked down to remain in place)
  • Set the door’s security to ‘owner only’. (fig 3)

Example 2 closing a wall to the end of the staircase wall. (fig 1)

To fill this gap:

  • Craft a stone door E out as before
  • Put the door down anywhere in the house and open it.
  • Pick up the opened door and place it as shown in Fig 2 below
  • Close the door, lock it down, set security to ‘owner only’. (fig 3)

This positioning will also work when the crafted wall intersects a longer prebuilt wall, exampled by Pawain’s image, where you can see the closing door actually goes through the intervening wall to close the gap:

For East/West walls use Stone Doors ‘S in’.

or for the other end of such a wall, use Stone Doors ‘S out’
