You may wish to hunt for sunken treasure You may plan to undertake some peaceful fishing trips, delivering cargo for the fishmonger’s on shore You may see yourself hunting down pirates You may even be a pirate, hunting down the peaceful merchants sailing the seas. On a shard where you […]

Sunken Treasure

As a peaceful fisherman, sailing the Sosarian seas, you may be attacked by sea serpents. Defend yourself as best you can and kill these beasts. You might consider skinning them for their horned leather. They have little useable loot, but as you open the corpse you may see what appears to be a bottle of ale. Do not disregard this seemingly worthless prize. Click your mouse on it, for it may not be ale at all, it may be a message in a bottle (often referred to as a MiB). Double click the bottle to remove the message, an SOS […]

Fishing

Where to Start Choosing Your Skills Obviously you will need fishing skill, start your character with 50 skill, or if you’re adapting an existing character buy it as high as you can from the fishing guildmaster. Next you will need some way to combat the sea serpents you’re likely to encounter once you get off shore. Magery is a good option, but you could also consider mysticism, archery or, if your character is a gargoyle, throwing. Each of these will need some ‘support’ skills, meditation and evaluate intelligence for magery, focus or imbuing for mysticism, tactics and anatomy, maybe also […]

In the table, Cooking Menu, below where the proximity resource is listed as ‘flame’ any suitable heat source can be used. All such heat sources are: Campfire Fireplace Forge Heating stand Oven You will need tools: a rolling pin is the easiest to make if your character has no tinkering skill (requires 5 boards) a skillet, next easiest […]

Cartography

While most people only think of cartography in terms of decoding maps to find buried treasure the skill can also be used to create maps of your surroundings. Sea charts can be used by fisherman, either to plot a circular course to bring them back to shore at the end of their fishing trip or to sail to an area where they might find sunken treasure. Introduced in publish 105, cartography can also increase the dig radius from the treasure spot on treasure maps as follows: 0 to 50.9 skill gives a 1 tile radius (in other words, you must […]
