He fled like a coward through that cursed portal beneath the Forsaken Bloodline stronghold...and that was the last anyone saw of him.

But we were wrong to think he was gone. He didn't simply vanish... he travelled through the Ethereal Void and emerged in another world entirely. And there, he tried to do what he always does... seize control, manipulate, crown himself king.

H kidnapped King Blackthorn and assumed his place in this alternative Sosaria. But the people of that world did not bow to him. They fought back. And leading them was a fabled champion called Dupre. Somehow, Dupre survived being trapped in the Ethereal Void and became freed due to Victor's weakening of the veil. It was he who led the resistance that drove Victor back.

But now... Victor has returned. He's back in our world and the damage he caused while traversing the Void has left its mark. The fabric of reality is unstable. The sky tears, the land shifts, and the very laws of magic tremble beneath us. A cataclysm is inevitable if we do nothing.

Yet... all hope may not be lost. The man beside me... well, he calls himself a man... claims to be from the Ethereal Void itself. A hermit, a mage, one who has made the void his home. He says he has knowledge that may help us... if we act quickly.

His name is Mythran. Speak with him. Hear what he has to say. It may be the only chance we have left.
Mythran also has information to impart.
Mythran

So... you are the ones they send to face Victor Blackthorn. I had hoped for someone... more alive. But perhaps you will do.

**He smirks faintly before growing serious**

I am Mythran, a humble Thaumaturgist. I do not hail from your Sosaria… I live within the Ethereal Void itself. There, I have studied quietly for many years, far from kings and crowns and the foolish wars of men.

But the silence has been broken. The Void trembles. It bends and twists in ways it never has before. Fragments of other realities slip in and out of phase. Entire landscapes vanish and return in different shapes. I have seen visions... nightmares... of crumbling worlds and abominations born of stitched realities.

This chaos has a name. Victor Blackthorn.

His ignorance is his greatest weapon. He does not understand what he meddles with. He tears open wounds in the fabric of the void, draws power he cannot control, and leaves the rifts gaping behind him. Already he has done more damage than he knows.

I left my sanctuary in the Void because I can no longer bear to watch him destroy everything. If Victor continues to manipulate the Ethereal Void, it will shatter. And when it does, your world will suffer the consequences.

But if you act swiftly... if you can find him before he calls upon its power once more.. there may still be time. You may yet save your Sosaria.
Head to the Lost Lands, the link from Moonglow's Encyclopedia Magicka would seem to be the best approach. The quest directions will lead you from there. You enter what appears to be a set of ancient ruins... but something feels wrong. The air hums, the walls pulse faintly with unnatural light. These stones feel more alive than they should. As you step deeper inside, waves of energy roll over you... unfocused, wild, and far too powerful to belong here. The very air crackles with tension, like a storm trapped beneath the surface. Something is definitely wrong. You steel yourself and press forward, determined to find the source of this disturbance.
Victor's Rant
You stare in disbelief as Victor Blackthorn vanishes into a swirling cloud of Void energy, his mocking laughter still echoing off the walls. The ritual is complete. The crackling silence that follows feels heavier than any battle. You came seeking answers, confirmation of what Mythran feared most, and you've found them, in the worst possible way. Victor lives. And worse... he thrives. You witnessed him draw power from the Ethereal Void, manipulating forces no mortal should dare touch. But that wasn't the end of it. As the Void Mirror fractured, four figures emerged... twisted silhouettes mounted on nightmarish steeds, each one seething with elemental power. Victor called them his Riders of Ruin... The Riders of the Cataclysm. Their presence alone was enough to chill your blood. Not summoned from this world, but from the rift between realities. There is no more doubt. Victor Blackthorn is responsible for the corruption spreading across Sosaria. And now he marches at the head of a force capable of unmaking the realm itself. You turn away from the broken ritual site, your mind racing. You must return to Commander Hew at once. He needs to know everything. About the ritual. The mirror. The Riders. The threat is no longer distant... it is here. And the end has already begun. Commander Hew
So... It's true then *He listens intently as you recount what you saw... Victor's ritual, the fractured Void Mirror, and the emergence of the Riders.*

I had hoped Mythran was wrong. That perhaps Victor was merely meddling, not fully committing to whatever madness he's found within the Void. But summoning riders like that? Manifestations of raw destruction? There's no denying it now... we're facing something far worse than we imagined.

These... Riders of Ruin... these Hargingers… they change the game entirely. I've seen war in every corner of Sosaria, but I've never seen anything like what you're describing.

*He folds his arms, his expression grim but steady.*

You did well to come back. That kind of knowledge can turn the tide... if we act on it quickly. For now, I need you to stay sharp. Stay vigilant. If Victor means to attack, he'll do so when and where we least expect it. These Riders could appear anywhere, and I want eyes on every corner of the realm.

In the meantime, I'll gather Mythran and the others. We'll need to rethink everything... positions, strategies, contingencies. We'll find a way through this. We always do.

*He meets your eyes and nods.*

Until then... watch the skies. And trust no shadow.
