Each year since 2006 for a short period in Autmn saying ‘Trick or Treat’ will give a targeting cursor. Targeting an NPC will give a ‘trick’ or a ‘treat’. Most treats are candy, tricks have varied from year to year but can involve teleportation to a different location, temporary re-coloring of clothing or an ‘evil twin’ stealing your candy.
At this time the usual begging responses are changed for more seasonal ones, including:

From 2026 a new dimension has been added to this activity. In addition to the established rewards you now have a chance to receive different styles of Candy Buckets when Trick-or-Treating, which can be turned in to a new vendor to purchase rewards.
Luck will influence your chances of getting candy currency when Trick-or-Treating. Screaming Sally, near the bank in Umbra, offers rewards for candy buckets obtained.
