He is not a demon.
He is not a daemonic lord.
He is not even mortal enough to be classified.

He is N’Xyldar — the shadow that forms behind the candle flame.

When joy grows warm, he grows hungry.

When families gather, he tastes the sorrow beneath.

When bards carol, he steals the final notes to weave into his Dirge of Unmaking.

He is the anti-spirit of Christmas:
the cold that seeps under the door even when the hearth is blazing.
