Actions in Ultima Online build the character’s reputation. Reputation being the combination of their fame and karma. Fame is gained through acts of heroism, fighting monsters or of industry, completing and turning in Bulk Orders. Karma is the result of the characters good or evil deeds. You can see your fame and karma levels through your characters context menu by selecting ‘loyalty rating’. Fame is a commodity used to determine a character’s reputation title or to gain Sacrifice virtue. The higher the monster’s level of fame, the greater the amount of fame earned by the character who kills it, however only a small portion of a creature’s fame is transferred to the warrior. Monster fame falls into 5 basic levels with a maximum and minimum points range within each. Animal training is an advancement to the traditional pet skill training through which a pet has, in the past, gained its skills. The training can be undertaken with any tamed creature be it fresh tamed or ‘fully trained’, ie with skills at maximum. Publish 5 The following is a list of changes deployed as Publish 5 on April 27, 2000. This publish was known as the Renaissance Publish. Cure Potions Cure potions will now cure poison based on the relative strength of the cure potion and the poison afflicting the character. A lesser cure will have virtually no chance of curing a deadly poisoned character, while a greater cure will cure greater poison much more often than not.
