House Runestones UO Team 20 Aug 2003 00:00:00 EST In order to facilitate safer traveling for those visiting vendor shops, an in-house rune marking system is being developed to allow players to Recall off of hued house runestones without fear of ending up in some dangerous dungeon. Players will be able to mark runestones while inside of public and private houses, as long as they have the appropriate skill in Magery and can enter the house. These runestones will be hued a specific color based on which facet they were marked in. They will also be automatically inscribed with the […]

Publish 19: Quick Self-looting UO Team 31 Jul 2003 00:00:00 EST If you’ve spent tons of time organizing your backpacks and bags just the way you like them, it can be a real pain to get everything back in order after you die. To make it a little easier to pick up your stuff and keep going, we’ve added a new “Quick Self-looting” feature. With this feature, players now have the ability to loot their corpse and get everything back into place without spending time rearranging things the way they had been. To instantly re-equip your items and bags, you […]

Publish 19: Blocking Items on the Terrain UO Team 31 Jul 2003 00:00:00 EST As part of our goal to continually make UO more fun to play, we’re turning some of our attention to all those bits of flora and other items that block player movement on the terrain. Since some items in the game world are built differently than others, not all items will be able to be done at the same time. The first group was addressed as part of Publish 19, while the second group will take place in a future publish.

Housing Phase 3 UO Team 18 Jun 2003 00:00:00 EST If you’re a house owner, or you’re looking to become one, this is an update not to be missed! As part of our one-house-per-account changes that came with Publish 16, we are planning to reinstate house decay in the near future. For those not familiar with the phased rollout of this system, here’s a refresher course: Phase 1, which took place last year, was the time when the game checked all houses and determined whether they belonged to inactive accounts and should be condemned, or whether they belonged to an active […]

AOS Launch Gift Tweaks UO Team 13 Jun 2003 00:00:00 EST We have released a small mini-publish to fix a few issues with the AOS Launch Gifts. Players can no longer miss out on some of the gift’s offered skill points if they are wearing skill-enhancing jewelry. Fixed an issue that resulted in players not being able to use certain powerscrolls if they’d already used the stat bonus AOS launch gift. With this fix, these players should now be able to use those powerscrolls, and they will be cumulative with the stat increase launch gift.

Publish 18 – Age of Shadows Launch Gift UO Team 09 Jun 2003 00:00:00 EST The Ultima Online team would like to offer an in-game gift as a way of showing our appreciation for all those players who’ve made the Age of Shadows launch one of the busiest times in UO’s history, as well as a way of offering something out of consideration for anyone who’s gone through a revert or other problem caused by the high traffic during the Age of Shadows launch. The gift consists of two parts, and is being distributed per character, not per account. This […]
