The narrative questlines are the heart of New Legacy. Unlike traditional shards where you’re dropped into Britannia with no specific directions, New Legacy introduces a streamlined story experience. This narrative questline path allows you to live out a true RPG narrative, advancing your character’s skills, living your true class fantasy, discovering and defeating nefarious foes and bosses as well as unlocking dedicated housing regions.
Before choosing your calling, it is vital to understand how the narrative system functions:
- Interacting with the World: Characters or objects vital to your current quest milestone will display a magical sparkle when you get close. To progress, simply use the Talk option via the NPC’s context menu, or double-click quest items to register them.
- The Adventurer’s Guidebook: Taking your first task grants you this essential tome. It maps out key regional hubs, dungeon locations, and narrative points of interest. More can be found on the Key Locations page.
- Town Objectives and Job Boards: Progression relies heavily on Town Objectives found on local job boards. Combatants will receive hunt, defend, or destroy missions, while crafters are tasked with filling Bulk Order Deeds (BODs) or salvaging gear buried in regional dig sites.
- Gaining Skills: Completing these tasks rewards you with skill points. Approach the nearby Skill Trainer NPC to allocate those points directly into your archetype’s core toolkit. Once a skill milestone is maxed out, you must return to your primary NPC Guildmaster to trigger the next major chapter of your story.
Choosing Your Calling
Job Boards
Job Boards can be found in the three main narrative cities of Moonglow, Trinsic and Skara Brae. Job Boards are the main way players on the narrative questlines raise their skills by completing Town Objectives.
Upon completing Job Board quests, Objective Reward Skills are earned and can be spent at the skill trainer that stands next to each Job Board. You will complete jobs from the Job Board until you reach the next level of skill, then return your narrative guild master to begin the next part of your narrative.
