Enhancing

While items made out of normal iron, wood, granite or leather, either crafted or found as loot, lack the special material bonuses applied by using colored versions of the resource, a skilled craftsman still has the ability to enhance the item after the fact. Plain weapons or armor can be enhanced with special materials using the ‘Enhance’ option on the relevant craft menu. These craft menus are: Blacksmithing Bowcrafting Carpentry Stonecrafting Tailoring Tinkering Success will add the material’s fixed properties (bonuses) to the item. Tailoring

Tailoring is the skill which allows a character to make clothing and leather armor, it has much in common with blacksmithing in that training to 70 skill can be done through Bulk Orders interspersed with Tailoring Quests from Heartwood Elves. When working with leather to make armor, armslore, base properties, material bonuses and runic bonuses also apply. Creating your tailor Ultima Online being the sandbox it is, nothing is set in stone. Suggested skills are: Tailoring; obviously, select this as a starting skill at 50% (there is no accelerated gain quest for this skill) Arms Lore; gives bonuses to exceptionally […]

Focus

Focus skill has two main functions; it could be defined as the “Warrior’s Meditation Skill”, it is also the support skill for Mysticism, enhancing the mystic’s spells in the same way as Evaluate Intelligence skill supports Magery skill. It increases both a player’s Mana and Stamina regeneration. Since a warrior’s swing rate is determined by the amount of stamina he has, the ability to increase the regeneration of that attribute would be highly beneficial on the battlefield. Mana, too, is an important stat to any warrior that uses special combat moves as part of his tactics. Hit Points, Stamina, and […]

Blacksmithing

Blacksmithing, in basic terms, is the skill with which a player can make and repair weapons, shields and metal armor, he can also make cannons, cannonballs and metal kegs for distilling! What Skills? The easiest way is to choose the pre-made Blacksmith template when you make a new character. This gives you a useful set of skills and stats to begin with. Suggested skills are: Blacksmithy; obviously Arms Lore; gives bonuses to exceptionally made items in addition to the normal Exceptional Bonus; Mining; needed for recycling/salvaging items you don’t want, as well as mining the raw material you will craft […]

Magic Item Properties

Items may become endowed with magical properties in five different ways. These are: Runic Crafting Imbuing Runic Reforging Random Generated loot Special Crafted items (minor crafted, major crafted, spellbooks) The range of items an individual property can be found on, and the intensity range of the property, will depend on the method by which the item was created. Properties imparted by runic crafting or imbuing were greatly surpassed on the introduction of Runic reforging and the random loot generator, however imbuing has the advantage of granting more control over the combination of properties that can be applied. In some instances […]
