Server Migration for the Week of January 13th, 2025

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance server performance and reliability, we will be migrating shards to new hardware with our cloud service provider. Please find the schedule for this week below:

Izumo Server Migration

Greetings,
Over the next several months we will be migrating all shards to newer hardware with our cloud service provider. The process will continue today, January 9, 2025, with Izumo during maintenance. We expect downtime to last at least 3 hours and will update this post once the migration is complete.
Update 07:50 PM ET 01/09/2025 – The Izumo migration is complete.

We would like to wish everyone a very happy holidays & happy new year! This past year was a busy one for the UO Team! From the successful launch of Ultima Online: New Legacy to Echoes of the Blighted Realm we want to thank all of our players for being part of that success – we could not have done it without you! As the team embarks on a winter’s rest to recharge and rejuvenate, we could not be more excited for 2025! Our first publish of 2025 is scheduled for February – this production shard publish will round out Echoes of the Blighted Realm, introduce new vet rewards, new offerings in the Ultima Store & more! We look forward to sharing our complete publish roadmap for New Legacy & Production shards in the new year. In the meantime, enjoy the events, hunt for that elusive rare nightmare, open your holiday gifts, and celebrate all that it means to be part of this amazing community!

New Legacy Publish 1

We are pleased to announce that New Legacy Publish 1 is now live on the New Legacy shard! You can read the full publish notes here. This is our first publish to New Legacy post launch and includes a host of quality of life upgrades, bug fixes, world loot drops, a legendary artifact trader and more!
With this first release to New Legacy we want to outline how the deployment process will work for this and future publishes. Publishes to New Legacy will go live and there will then be a week long “evaluation” period. During this period there may be unintended issues that may result in changes or rollbacks. We do not expect these to be common nor frequent but wanted New Legacy players to be aware. We look forward to hearing your feedback and thank everyone who has participated in forging their new Britannian Legacy!

Shattered Sanctum Event Expansion

Greetings,
As we continue to monitor feedback related to the Shattered Sanctum event we are pleased to announce the following changes will be released to Origin, Izumo, and Baja during their next regularly scheduled maintenance,
- Investigations into the unknown origins of the Undead Invasion across Britannia have discovered the Solen Tunnels have been used by the armies of the Undead to gain access to Britannia’s cities. As such, the Solen Hive (Trammel only except Siege & Mugen) will be an active invasion area in addition to invaded cities.
- Resolved issue where Provocation would not work on invasion monsters
- Resolved issue where monsters killed after the invasion conclusion would not count toward Artifact drops
- Hidden chest poison has been capped at level 4
- Greatly reduces the chance of monsters spawning on rooftops in certain towns
Following an evaluation period on these shards we expect these changes to be deployed World Wide next week.

Shattered Sanctum Event Lag

We’ve received reports and have investigated instances of latency associated with the Treasures of the Shattered Sanctum event during peak population periods. In an effort to address this concern we will be pushing a hotfix beginning with North American shards during each shard’s regularly scheduled maintenance on November 21, 2024.
As a result of this change non-paragon spawn will no longer leave corpses when killed during the event. This change will not impact your ability to earn points towards a minor artifact drop or your ability to qualify for that drop when killing monsters.
This is not a one-size-fits-all solution but strikes at the heart of where we believe most of the performance hiccups are originating. We will continue to monitor the event and make any necessary changes to optimize performance.

Publish 118.2 World Wide

We are pleased to announce that beginning November 19, 2024 (Eastern Time) Publish 118.2 will be deployed with each shard’s regularly scheduled maintenance. Deployment will begin with US shards, with all other shards to follow. Please be sure to check out the latest publish notes.
This event brings the next phase of Echoes of the Blighted Realm – Shattered Sanctum. This treasures event will offer fortune and glory to all those brave enough to challenge the undead menace!
Following each shard being updated with Publish 118.2 (Expected November 20th) we also invite you to check out the latest offerings from the Ultima Store including,

- Will access your inventory when used, can be equipped in the cloak slot!

Publish 118.2 to Origin

With each shard’s normally scheduled maintenance beginning November 14, 2024 Publish 118.2 will be deployed to Origin, Izumo, and Baja.
Character transfers from these shards to other shards will be disabled until Publish 118.2 is deployed world wide. We expect Publish 118.2 to deploy world wide early next week.
