Castle Blackthorn

Beneath both Blackthorn’s castles has appeared an extensive dungeon. The entrances may be found as illustrated below. Pets Rejected! Blackthorn’s newer residence allows no pets to enter, summarily sending them to the stable.  He graciously therefore has allowed a hitching post to be placed at the foot of the pictured staircase for the benefit of those visiting the dungeon area from that location, that they may retrieve their mounts and fighting pets.  Should you enter the castle mounted upon a beetle that you have neglected to unload the pet cannot be auto-stabled, however you will find it safely enclosed in one […]

Stealth

To use this skill you must first be hidden, If you start walking while hidden you will automatically attempt to stealth if your skill is 25 or more. The number of steps you may take between skill checks is dependent upon your stealth skill and can be seen in the table below. You will automatically attempt to use the skill again without a delay, allowing continuous movement, however if the check fails you will be revealed and have to hide again before you can continue. Running while stealthing is possible, but only half the number of steps as you can […]

Stealing from Town Shops

Stealing from town shops is not without dangers, those shop keepers do not want their goods purloined! If an NPC is nearby, and looking towards you, cultivate the patience to wait until they move away or turn their back. Failure to do so may result in your waiting for the crimnal flag to expire before the local healer will resurrect you. You will have been guardwhacked Of course some NPCs will not move, most notably quest NPCs awaiting an escort. The easiest way to remove these from the area is to either take them to where they wish to go, […]

Stealing

Introduction Stealing in Ultima Online can take several forms, stealing from crates and barrels in town shops, from monsters in dungeons, from Exodus Zealots in Exodus Dungeon or even stealing from other players. The specifics of some of these, with information of the possible rewards, are dealt with in the pages linked below. Other characters should be aware that performing beneficial acts upon a thief will flag you ‘criminal’. To see if someone is in the Thieves Guild use the Forensic Evaluation skill on them. The higher your Forensic Evaluation skill, the more chance you have of finding out who’s […]

Snooping

Snooping is an essential skill for all pvp thieves and one particular pvm encounter, it allows for targeted, rather than random, stealing. With one exception it is an active, not passive skill. The skill is checked when you attempt to open a container belonging to someone other than yourself. The title attributed to the skill is ‘spy’. The exception is when stealing from Exodus Zealots in Exodus Dungeon. Although the zealots have no back pack, so active snooping is not possible, characters who do not have snooping skill are unable to obtain the special items possible to characters who do […]

Stealing in Exodus Dungeon

As demonstrated by the Europa character, Xorartep Xorartep skidded to a halt and, glancing left and right, quietly hid in the shadows. Sliding from the back of her summoned mount she stealthily slipped through the starry portal before her into the room below. Hoping that her caress of the statue at home would bring her the luck it promised; she paused and carefully surveyed the scene. From the corner of her eye she glimpsed the dark purple robe of an Exodus Zealot and set off in pursuit of her prey. She crept, silently, behind the unwary creature and attempted to […]

Remove Trap

Remove trap is a skill used to remove traps on containers and disarm floor traps in various locations. Until publish 105 there were ‘qualifying’ requirements which must be met before the skill could be trained, these have been removed; as a result it is now possible to purchase the first few points in training, though you will still need detect hidden to find floor traps such as those in Underworld. Using this skill will not cause a hidden character to be revealed To use the skill target the floor trap you have found or the box, crate or chest you […]
