Siege Perilous – message in a battle

Trinsic’s governor stared at the scroll on her desk in dismay. It should have been sent months ago, but her predecessor had been… a little … just a little… lax. For some reason, moongates to Britain refused to open. But then, the scroll warned of this. Calling for her swiftest messenger, she sent the scroll on its way, knowing deep in her heart that it was already too late. “Well”, she remarked to nobody in particular, “when the land needs a new capital city, I suppose I do have one ready and waiting. 09 – The Black Gate

By EM Malachi 10/19/20 The Black Gate The sky was a swirl of colors, as raw mana poured in from the other worlds in orbit around Sosaria’s sun. Eight columns focused the magic toward a massive slab of blackrock etched on the border with runes: the Black Gate. The Fellowship forces fought with zeal and desperation. The Black Gate was everything Brother Batlin had promised, and failure meant death or imprisonment. The cult was not alone. Humanity had other enemies, brought here by the Fellowship’s influence. Britannia’s forces were much smaller. The location was discovered at the last minute, and […]

07 – Silver and Blood

As Iolo made his way through the crowd to the people in his care, he bumped into a man in a Fellowship robe. There was an unexpected clink of chain mail. When Iolo gave a greeting, the man scowled and pushed deeper into […]
