South of Valor Shrine in Ilshenar, and on the far bank of the river is Sorcerers dungeon, Terort Skitas (1022.44’N 54.25’W 549, 455). North of Sacrifice Shrine and east of the Meer town of Lakeshire Mireg in Ilshenar is a derelict and debris filled town (41,23’N 18.29’W 1060, 1153). It is the home of a tribe of ratmen including several archers and mages. In the mountain behind it they have constructed a mine.

Deep in a maze of mountain passes south of Chaos Shrine in Ilshenar is the entrance to Dungeon Rock (92.38’N 32.41’E 1788, 570). A short entry hall guarded by a zombie, shade and skeleton leads into this underground stone-built complex of many passages and rooms. The area is very sparsely populated, though lich seem to spawn randomly almost anywhere. The first group of corridors occupied by only a single lich and stone gargoyle.   In the mountains north of Sacrifice shrine in Ilsh, behind the ratmen village, is found the entrance to the ratmen mine (41.18’N 20,36’W 1030, 1154). The first chamber of this excavation is a maze of levels, ladders and mining equipment, populated by ratmen, a ratman mage and earth elementals. Precious emeralds and diamonds in the walls show one reason for the mine. A further tunnel leads deeper into the mountain but here evidence of mining activities is absent, as are the ratmen.   Entry to this “tourist attraction” at the north east point of Nujelm is by ticket only. Luckily Lefty the Ticket Seller will provide one at a price of 10,000gp. Hard cash only please (mark as quest item). The ticket has a duration of 12 hours. Descending the ladder leads to a room with crystals inhabited by wisps and a sign saying the attraction is close for repairs! The doors to the dungeon are hidden by curtains, but not locked. Hidden by rocks by the edge of Beggar’s Gorge in Lost Lands is a noxious pit (8.10’N 39.47’W 5578, 3019). This is the entrance to the Palace of Paroxysmus.   The entrance to this small habitat is found close to the river bank east of Trinsic in the mountain range which encloses Hidden Valley (121.27’S 27.12’E 1710, 3006). Occupants of this primitive dwelling under the mountain are a tribe of Troglodytes; their leader, Lurg; his pet bear, Grobu and various other pet bears, cats and dogs. The condition of the dwelling also has invited giant rats to join them there.

  Two rivers emerge from mountains close to Trinsic, the southern river is beside the entrance to Painted Caves, the Northern River is at the point where a Volcano Tunnel emerges from the mountain (111.31’S 22.46’E 1647, 2893). This tunnel leads to an enclosed Hidden Valley. The only occupants of the valley are a group of mages selling their goods in, and around, a lonely mage tower. Excavated by the orcs when driven from their homes by the attack of savages from Ilshenar, the orc caves are deep in the Serpent Spine Mountains of Felucca and Trammel; the entrance close to the end of Rat Valley (1.13’N 22.00’W 1010, 1428) is guarded by small groups of orcs, sometimes accompanied by an ettin. Extending from the entrance a long tunnel occupied by orcs, orc lords, orc scouts and orc choppers leads to the first of three large cave areas. Entry to Twisted Weald is only granted to those who have undertaken the Dreadhorn quest and is gained by passing through a teleport sparkle in the Mushroom Caves (13.26’N 8.55’E 1450, 1471).   The Weald is divided into three distinct habitat types. Initially the landscape is wooded. This is the location of the altar for the champion Twualo of the Glade and at the northern boundary of the wood is found Swoop, one of the Named Creatures.
